aaaaSteady-state spectrometers, such as the QuantaMaster manufactured by Photon Technology International, Varian Eclipse, the PerkinElmer LS-50B, or Horiba Fluorolog or Fluoromax routinely produce fluorescence excitation and emission spectra. However, fluorescence lifetime has always been a specialty technique, in part because the measurements are slower and more complicated.

aaaaFluorescence Innovations’ revolutionary measurement technology produces fluorescence lifetime data 100 times faster than techniques such as time-correlated single photon counting and with higher precision. The key to our breakthrough is the combination of microchip lasers, including tunable versions developed by us, with proprietary digitizers. The complete fluorescence decay curve is recorded on every excitation pulse. We refer to this technique as Direct Waveform Recording. It is the fastest and most efficient of all conceivable time-domain approaches.
